How I train
As an Olympic Athlete and World Judo Champion, my training regimen was a full-time job. I often trained judo twice per day, ran 5 days per week, and weight trained 4 times per week. Training never stopped. Now that I am retired from sport, I try to balance work life with my family life, duties as the Olympic judo team coach, and my fitness routine. Nowadays, I get about 2 days of judo training in per week, weight train 2 days per week, and try to squeeze in a run once or twice a week just to stay healthy and reduce stress. As an athlete, I NEVER skipped practice or training; but, as an average “Jim”, I don’t worry about missing a day or two as long as I average a minimum of 3 -4 days per week of working out.
