Care and Sizing Instructions
All FUJI Gis are preshrunk. However, this does not mean your gi will not shrink. We recommend cold wash and hang dry; with this method your gi will only shrink up to one inch. Do not bleach. If your height and weight fall into different size categories, we recommend you choose the larger of the two sizes. Items can be returned as long as they have not been washed or worn for practice.

Solid gi - but sizing is off

"The fit and feel is solid, but the sizing as described on the Fuji website is too far off. I used the original specs on Fuji’s website based on my height and weight and went with a size 5 from a vendor. It was way too big. I checked again, returned it, and sized down to a 4. 5 that I purchased directly from Fuji. It was still a little too big, but I hoped (incorrectly) that it would shrink enough after a few hot washes/dries. It did not. So now, I’m stuck with a gi that’s been used twice and is simply too big. I will need to buy a size 4 and see if someone at the club wants a free $100+ gi that was worn twice. Please simply update the sizing chart to accurately reflect the size. At 5’10”, 210 lbs, I actually need a size 4, not a size 5, as the website suggests. That’s a fairly large difference."

Solid gi

"Honestly, I love all of your Judo gis and I don't really have anything to say. It's a just a real solid gi. I just have a suggestion. Could you PLEASE start making Judo gis in different colors? BJJ gis have so many cool designs and colors and I just want to have a cool looking Judo gi. It would be very cool if you brought back the old USA Judo gis or did a pink judo gi in honor of Judo Gene LeBell. Also, make more long sleeve rashguards and spats."

Wrong size

"The gi is beautiful the only problem is that the size is wrong. I have other gi from fuji, and when I compared this one, it is at least one size bigger. I order size 5 and it looks like a 6."

Great fit and quality

"I've had many gis over the years. The Euro Comp fits me the best. Im 5' 9. 5" and weigh 190 lbs, and I have the 3. 5. Although I shrunk the pants a bit to make them shorter, there was no tailoring needed. The top seems to be slightly tapered and not quite as boxy as the Fuji double weave. And the pants are definitely less baggy than the Mizuno pants. I also like the fit better when compared to my Mizuno. I'm happy that this is sort of a middleweight gi and not quite as heavy as the double weave. It's an 80/20 cotton poly blend top and a 70/30 blend for the pants. They dry rather quickly when compared to my 100% cotton gis that I have. And for the price, there is really nothing on the market that compares."

Q&A

I've done a bit of research for sizing but opinions vary a lot. I'm about 5'7 165lbs. Would you recommend size 3 or 3.5 for a white gi? I wear 2.5 for Mizuno and 3.5 for KuSakura.
Our gi sizing is based on weight first followed by height. Sizing cannot be guaranteed because everyone is built differently. You fall under the guidelines for size 3.5
Will this go shrink some?
If washed in hot water and placed in a hot dryer yes it will shrink some. For best results always wash in cold water and hang dry
What is the percentage of cotton and artificial material?
The jacket is 80% cotton and 20% polyester with twill collar. The pants are 8 oz twill pants (55% cotton and 45% polyester)
